‘Learn to Love, Love to Learn’

Safeguarding

At St. Bede's Catholic Infant School, we strive to ensure, through our policies and practice, that every child who is a registered pupil is safe and protected from harm. The Department for Education’s (DfE) ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (September 2023), defines safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment;
- Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development;
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and
effective care; and
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

Every person is of equal and inestimable value and each child will be included in all curriculum activities, except where some physical or other disability prevents this. Diversity is celebrated so that no child feels they are 'other'.

British Values Statement

All schools are required to actively promote the fundamental values which define British society, the values associated with democracy, the rule of law, individual livery, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. As a Catholic school, we strongly support and foster universal values, virtues and ethics that shape our children's character and moral perspective. Gospel values permeate every aspect of our daily life in school as set out in our Mission Statement.
