St. Oscar Romero Award
St. Oscar Romero Award

Saint Oscar Romero was a Catholic Archbishop who lived in El Salvador in Central America. He cared deeply about people who were poor, frightened or treated unfairly. He believed that every person was precious to God and deserved to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect.
Oscar Romero was very brave. He used his voice to speak up for people who were not always listened to and encouraged others to work for peace and justice. Even when speaking out became dangerous, he continued to stand alongside those who needed his help.
Saint Oscar Romero reminds us that our faith is something we can put into action every day. We can follow his example by noticing when someone needs help, treating others fairly, speaking up for what is right and showing love through the choices we make. His life helps our children understand that even small acts of kindness and courage can make a difference.
